INSTRUMENTATION

AWLR

The Automatic Water Level Recorder has a data logger capable to record the variation in water level at user’s selectable time interval with date and time stamp. The imported Hunan Rika Technology make automatic water level recorder ideal for research grade quality measurement at remote locations. The automatic water level recorder is effective for recording of long term water level fluctuations.

Sensors

Most Automatic Water Level Recorder have

  • Ultrasonic Liquid Level Transmitter or WL400 Water Level Sensor for measuring a highly accurate water level
Some station can also have
  • Tipping Bucket Rainfall Sensor for testing rainfall in the nature
  • Solar Radiation Sensor for measuring solar radiation
  • Wind Speed Sensor for measuring wind speed

Data Logger

An electronic device that records data over time or in relation to location either with a built in instrument or sensor or via external instruments and sensors. Small, battery powered, portable, and equipped with a microprocessor, internal memory for data storage, and sensors.
One of the primary benefits of using data loggers is the ability to automatically collect data on a 24-hour basis. Upon activation, data loggers are typically deployed and left unattended to measure and record information for the duration of the monitoring period. This allows for a comprehensive, accurate picture of the environmental conditions being monitored, such as air temperature and relative humidity.

Power Supply

The main power source for an automatic weather station depends on its usage. Many stations with lower power equipment usually use one or more solar panels connected in parallel with a regulator and one or more rechargeable batteries. As a rule of thumb, solar output is at its optimum for only 5 hours each day. As such, mounting angle and position are vital.
